The levels of raw material stock at euskalforging, which include carbon steels, alloy steels, stainless steels, duplex and superalloys, as described in the material grades section, are decided by means of:
- Raw material consumption records according to grades and formats
- Future requirements indicated by clients
euskalforging has an average stock to cover standard production for 4 months, and a system that is integrated into its ERP allowing to keep a computerised permanent inventory.
The materials that are consumed the most, both in continuous casting and in ingots, are restocked by means of control on safety stock, which is determined and reviewed according to market evolution. Furthermore, close communication with its clients enables euskalforging to purchase raw materials in advance for projects its clients are negotiating.
In order to stock the raw material euskalforging has:
- Storage agreements in the towns of Irun, Pasajes and Santurtzi in Spain, and in Hendaye in south-west France
- 11,000 m² of own storage space
euskalforging has production capacity reserve agreements with its suppliers so that it can quickly have materials available for its clients' urgent projects..
