euskalforging, a world leading manufacturer of seamless rolled rings up to ∅10.000mm and 80Tn of input weight, with turning, drilling and gear cutting capabilities and three manufacturing plants in the North of Spain, has signed a contract with Sif Group to supply 135 flanges for the foundations & Sub Station for the Norther Offshore Wind Farm.
The project consists of up to 44 MHI Vestas wind turbines V164-8.0 with a monopile design foundation & the Sub Station. Each turbine is rated at 8.4 MW giving a maximum generating capacity of up to 370 MW.
The offshore wind farm , developed by Elicio, Eneco and Diamond Generating Europe, will be built in the Belgian North Sea, within the Exclusive Economic Zone of Belgium, around 23 km from the port of Zeebruges covering an area of 38 square kilometres. This wind farm will supply energy to about 400.000 households.
Under the terms of the contract, euskalforging will fabricate and deliver to Sif Group 135 flanges with an outer diameter above 6.000mm that will be integrated in the foundation & sub Station. Deliveries will be adjusted to meet customer’s manufacturing schedule.
The project represents another milestone for euskalforging and reinforces its technological leadership and project execution capabilities in the offshore wind market after participating in more than 34 offshore wind farms in the last few years.
