euskalforging is manufacturing seamless rolled rings for the RAPEL Power Plant in Chile.
Rapel forms one of the main reservoirs in central Chile. Inaugurated in 1968, it forms an 8.000 hectare and approximately 40km long artificial lake in Litueche using the waters of the Rapel River. Ever since its origins, the reservoir has been considered as a contribution to urban growth allowing it to be a consolidated activity in the territory today.
The property belongs to Enel Generación Chile, and it has an installed power of 377 MW.
Within the scope of this project, euskalforging will roll, heat treat, machine and deliver 6 rings in stainless steel grade X3CrNiMo13-4 with an outside Ø of more than 3000 mm.
